Dr van Rensburg completed his medical and ophthalmic training at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).
Dr Van Rensburg provides general ophthalmology services including cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, lid surgery and treatment of retinal diseases and glaucoma.
He is also a fellowship trained vitreoretinal surgeon having completed a 2 year subspecialty fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at McGill University in Canada.
Surgery for common retinal conditions such as epiretinal membranes, macular holes, retinal detachments and dislocated intra-ocular lenses are performed locally.
He also provides services and surgery in the public system.
Dr Van Rensburg has relocated to Mid North Coast area and enjoys serving the local community with the highest level of care.
