Dr Malcolm Capon is a highly experienced comprehensive ophthalmologist and surgical retinal specialist. With a distinguished career consulting across NSW, he expertly manages a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, including vitreous and retina diseases, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr Capon also serves as a Visiting Medical Officer at Sydney Eye Hospital, Sydney Private, Prince of Wales and Liverpool Hospitals.

Dr Capon graduated from Otago University and completed his specialist training at Auckland Hospital in New Zealand. He further advanced his expertise in the UK, conducting research on the ophthalmic use of lasers at the Institute of Ophthalmology and completing fellowships in medical and surgical retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Dr Capon has a long-standing association with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO). His contributions include teaching trainee ophthalmologists, chairing the College Board of Examiners, leading the Board that assesses overseas-trained ophthalmologists for practice accreditation in Australia and New Zealand and being an invited speaker at College meetings. Additionally, he volunteers at the Pacific Eye Institute in Suva, Fiji, with the Fred Hollows Foundation.

Skilled in medico-legal examinations and reports, Dr Capon has completed modules in Visual Systems and Vision for the AMA Guides 4th and 5th Editions. He is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and actively maintains his professional development by attending relevant medical conferences and seminars.
