He completed his medical and ophthalmic training at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).

Dr van Rensburg provides a wide range of general ophthalmology services, including cataract surgery, the treatment of vitreoretinal diseases, pterygium surgery and lid surgery. His extensive training ensures that he can address a variety of eye health needs with precision and care.

In addition to his general ophthalmology services, Dr van Rensburg is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon. He completed a two-year sub-specialty fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at McGill University in Canada. This advanced training allows him to perform surgeries for complex retinal conditions such as epiretinal membranes, macular holes, retinal detachments and dislocated intra-ocular lenses.
